MANILA, Philippines–Four men were arrested and P250 million worth of
suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) were confiscated
following two separate drug busts in Quezon City early Monday, police
said.
QCPD Acting District Director Police Senior Superintendent
Richard Albano identified the suspects as Honorato Lo, 39, resident of
Sta. Mesa, Manila; James Rosales, 26, of Parañaque City; Crisologo
Puzon, 40, resident of Las Piñas; and Hue Mark Sy 39, resident of Sta.
Cruz, Manila.
He said suspects Lo and Rosales were the first to be arrested in
the first buy bust operation for ½ kilo of shabu around 4:30 a.m. at the
corner Banawe and Makaturing streets in Barangay (village) Manresa,
Quezon City.
Puzon and Sy were, meanwhile, were arrested during the second
drug sting around 7:30 a.m., just some 300 meters from the first
location.
The second operation led to the confiscation of roughly 39 kilos of shabu stashed in a car.
Albano said that while authorities have yet to identify the group
of the four suspected drug traders, he said the modus of the group is
to sell the vehicle containing shabu to avoid the need to transfer the
illegal drugs from one vehicle to another.
“Magkasama na yung presyo ng drugs at nung sasakyan sa bayaran,” Albano said.
He said the confiscated shabu will be tested at the PNP Crime Laboratory.
