Bidding of P4-B new license plates delayed for 4th time


MANILA -- The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) has postponed anew the opening of bids for the P3.85-billion contract for the production of new license plates.
In a bid bulletin, the DOTC said the deadline for submission and opening of bids has been moved to May 6.
Originally, the department set March 12 for the opening but this was postponed to March 22, then to April 8, then to April 22, and now to May 6.
The contract involves supplying motor vehicle plates including screws and stickers to the Land Transportation Office for a period of five years.
Firms that have earlier inquired about the project include Datarail Corp. and Industrias Samar't SA, Marianing & Sons Development Corp., Kolonwel Trading, UTSCH Inc., and J. Knieriem BV.
